The Grivel Condor Evo Alpine 3 poles are perfect for conquering the toughest mountain conditions whilst trekking and/or ski touring. They have an innovative feature - a deployable hot-forged steel blade, similar to an ice axe, that can be used for self-arrest or provide extra security when traversing icy terrain. When the blade is closed, it functions as a regular handle, which is sturdy and has a comfortable, rubberised grip. The handle offers extra protection to your hands from ice/rock when plunging the pick into the ground when ascending. The adjustable, 3-section design makes it easy to use in various settings while remaining compact when folded. 

For optimal safety and functionality in winter conditions, we highly recommend carrying an ice axe with you. The Grivel Condor Evo Alpine 3 Trekking Poles provide enhanced safety and more capabilities compared to traditional trekking poles, but doesn't directly replace an ice axe.
